I recently decided to get edwin, after i read about him being the best mage in the game, but soon after he had a rather menacing conversation with valygar, which sounded like it was leading to conflict. does anyone know if these two will fight if i keep them together too long?

No as far as I know Edwin does not actually fight with Valygar, hes just a jerk who insults everyone.

Be careful mixing good and evil in the party; it can lead to conflict (don't know about Edwin v.s. Valygar, but can start conflict with other good-aligned NPCs).
