Can anyone please tell me what weapons work the best on Stone and Clay golems? They are so frustrating!! AAAAARRRRRGGGGGG

Gil-Galad 06-28-2001 02:02 PM

Stone Golems: Slashing
Clay Golems: Crushing
All Golems: No piercing

I don't know if they need to be magic.....Melf's Minute Meteors and Gesen Bow gives a bit of damage to all golems.

And your clerics should cast all their healing spells continueously during the battle, magic don't work on the Golems anyway (but you probably found out yourself pretty quick)http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

If you want a cheap way out you can use a WAND of Cloudkill. Itll take em all out in no time. Golems can only make saving throws against spells, not wands so there magic resistance is useless against wands. Cheesy tactic but there if ya want it. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Clerics caN USE animate dead. The skeletons can damage any type of golem. An aerial servant can do the same. I destroy everything with 3 clerics!

Use hammers and maces for clay and anything for stone.

Stone:

Any class of weapons can work against a Stone Golem so long as it has a suffix of +2 or higher. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

eg. Mace +2 or Dagger +2
You can use Arrows +2 against Stone Golems. But the Bow must be +2 or higher too if I'm not mistaken.
Clay:

Use magical blunt weapons against it. A suffix of +1 is the minimum. Mace, Clubs, Quarterstaffs, Halberds( it's both slashing and blunt), etc... ... are some examples.
All:

Melf's Minute Meteors works against all Golems, but deals only the physical damage. Golems are immuned to magic. MMM, if I'm not mistaken, are considered +5, http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/noncgi/smiles/eek.gif which is a lot. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif
Hope this helps. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Yep melfs meteors work great against the big golems that can't fit through doorways, plus its a lower level spell so most mages can probably use it.

2 aireal servants ( viconia or any cleric) and 2 fire elementals ( Jaheira or a mage) took out the adamantite golem and his buddies.. alone. I think i Hasted and blessed them before i sent them in tho.
