Question on the final battle....

<font color=lightgreen>I have gone through killing Irenicus in the tree of life and then descended into hell, but there is one problem I CAN'T SAVE! It keeps saying "you cannot save during combat"

Is this a bug, or is it meant to be that way to make it harder. I am not even fighting anybody and I get this message. The only thing I can think of, is that when I finished of Irenicus, I had just summoned an ettercap http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif and mordikens(sp) sword, when I descended into hell, the scroll bar was still in battle

Irenicus 22 damage to ettercap
Ettercap 1 damage to Irenicus
Magic Sword 23 damage to Irenicus
so on so forth

Does the game still think I am in combat?

gee, don't quote me on this, but i had the same thing happen when i fought fierkraag/red dragon. no matter where i went or what i did.
finally, i left the area...one where you have to take your entire party (cause it makes an auto save). got on the other side of it, quit. and reloaded the auto save.
the problem was gone.

Dont worry if this is going on the sword should dissapear after a while, the combat should end and then you can save.

Same thing happened to me on the final battle, had a sword spider who was dishing out loads of damage to irenicus, hadnt got a clue where they were, i was hoping that he might damage him so much my job would have been easier, no such luck!
Finally though it was unsummoned and i could save.

you just need to wait about 10-15 mins for them to be unssummoned.

That didn´t work in my case, i left my computer on the intire day and i still wasn´t able to save.
Just go down one of the stairs, the game will autosave.
Load the game from the autosave and you´ll be able to save again.

i think if the thingie is dealing out damage to jonie boy then it might kill him, thus ending the game. or it could damage him so when you fight him again
he is like "near death"

No it won't damage him either, I had a greater earth elem doing the same thing (while they are in "limbo" somewhere offscreen), it's a bug with having a summoned creature present at irin's "death" up on the giant tree of love. Do you have any idea how fast a slayer regenerates???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
