I have been playing the game for awhile now (I'm to chapter 3), and I haeld onto the books you get in the library at the very beginning. Do they have any perpose, or can I just chuck them?

I was pretty blind to how elminster was so god damn powerful til i read the history (or book) of mystra. Now everything is clear to me.......
