I had a problem where as soon as I got off the ship from Athkatla I was attacked by the vamps. I defeated the vamps and Saemon got away (like usual). The problem is that Sime won't get off the "Saemon looks suspicious" dialogue. I didn't know what to do next but eventually I stumbled apon Sanik in the inn. The game progressed normally from there (I'm now in Spellhold) but will that thing with Sime affect me later in the game?

It's a known bug which can be fixed with a D/L from the Baldurdash site, but it shouldn't have any effect on your game.

if you're already in spellhold then that's the last you'll see of sime...it's all good.
