ok....so is it finally possible to leave yoshimo in the pirate town near the spellhold and then recover him after you return alive? (doing the pause trick and all....). Id like to know if anyone has tested this method because id rather not go ALL the way through the underdark without him and then pick him up in CC....thanks

Yes it is possible, make sure you drop him off near the exit of the inn though.

I'm still unconvinced this method works as I'm sure I tried it and failed. As I remember it if you take Yoshi' to Brynlaw and dump him, upon meeting Irenicus he will tell you of Yoshimos treachery and you are forced to fight him and subsequently can't recover him. I'm pretty sure the only way I managed was to drop him off before setting sail to Brynlaw. Hi Accord btw http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif, how you doing pal...ok I hope. Have you actually taken Yoshi' to Brynlaw yourself and recovered him? I may well be wrong on this but I'm yet to have someone say definitively "yes, the dropping Yoshi in Brynlaw method works because I've done it". I know that the dropping him off at the C.C does without any doubt because I have done it myself.

Hey Charlie, long time no see! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif I am doing well, on holidays now. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif So how are you doing?
As for Yoshi, I meant that you dump him inside the inn (near the exit) before your party enter Spellhold. You should get the option to tell him either wait for you at where he stands or go back and wait for me at C.C.
As for actually dropping him off, I am assuming that the same concept applies no matter where you drop Yoshi off, and I have dropped him in several places except in Brynnlaw.

Hi Accord. I saw you replying so I hung on http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif . I moved away mate, although I've been here this week with a pal of mine and kind of posted under my pals alias along with him. I'm looking after my bro's place this weekend mate so I'll be playing and posting a bit hopefully.

The problem isn't about dropping Yoshimo off and getting him to wait, the problem arises in Irenicus' dialogue.

I know what you're saying about dropping Yoshimo off in Brynlaw but it's as I said. I remember trying everything to try to keep Yoshimo and I seem to remember that even if you take him to Brynlaw this instigates Irenicus "TO mention his treachery" in the dialogue. Once this happens you are then "forced to fight Yoshimo" within Spellhold itself and he will not be available when you exit. If you leave Yoshimo on the mainland then Irenicus "DOES NOT mention Yoshimo in the plot" at all and then he can be recovered when you return. Yes you have to do the whole of the Underdark without him but he is still available when you get home. Thieves/classes go up in levels fairly quickly so it doesn't really affect him too much.

As far as I remember (no gloating, just mentioning) it was me that originally posted the keeping Yoshimo trick. I've seen mention many times about taking Yoshimo to Brynlaw but as yet every person I've ever asked has never actually done it and recovered him using that method. As I say, I tried everything as far as I remember and the Brynlaw trick, whilst sound in theory is I fear, flawed in fact. The pre Brynlaw method definitely works. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

If anyone has actually succeeded in the Brynlaw/Yoshimo recovery trick then please post to say so.

Nice to see you Accord. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Indeed, sounds weird, I might give that a try then on my next go around (probably wait till the expansion comes out). http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Anyways, good to see you too Charlie! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

I never liked Yoshimo anyway... Useful as fodder until you escape from I's dungeon though.
