I'm close to finishing BG2... and i allready am thinking about starting a new game, my idea was to play as 'Saruman the Wise' the evil mage/sorcerer (?), anyone got some stats or suggestions on him? (is he a mage or sorcerer) and which stats should i use?

the circular fortress surrounding the tower of orthanc? bit of a difficult one to roleplay, that.

i assume you mean Saruman the WHite, in which case he is much the same as gandalf (ie a sorceror) execept he has more pure destructive spells than gandalf. hes also the member of the White Council most interested in Ring-lore. of all the peoples of middle-earth, he is the most likly to be creating his own Minor Rings, which could make for some interesting items.

stats for Saruman.

he used to be called saruman the wise, but hes obviously less wise than before since he believes sauron will share power. call it 12.

strength should be low, but saruman is familiar with many spells allowing him to manipulate items w/o muscles.. call it 14.

int is high, 18.

dex again low. 10.

con, low. 11.

cha? sarumans main power is his voice, he can confuse the mind of his listeners at will. 25. oops, sorry, i meant 18.


so thats 14/11/11/18/12/10.

you dont have to stick to that of course, since its highly approximate. i dont think these sats would be adequate for soloing.
