Light flashes as his sword comes down, and thunder rolls through the sky when he points his sword up to heaven to signal his victory....People whisper his name as he walks by, evil tries to hide as they sense his presence nearby.... His name? Link......

i do, it was quite angering cuz i didnt know it would bounce back at me! i fired it off to my direct right in a narrow corridor. i dont think any character can take that... but now i learned how to control it, so happiness all around.

I remember it. It was when fighting the Shadow Dragon. Imoen's lightning bolt killed the dragon, bounced around and killed Aerie. Minsc went berserk because of thisand killed Imoen
.

Learned to control it how? That's one of those things that I've never figured out. I've just had to avoid lightning bolt completely.

If you get it lined up just right, you can run a lightning bolt through a creature several times, though. A fireball can only hit once. I usually take my caster ahead by himself with a protection from lightning before I start raising hell, though- just to be safe. Try doing this in a small room with three spells in your spell trigger (TOASTY!). Lightning bolt is much friendlier when you're playing solo.

Hehe! I remember my first lightning bolt, it was in BG1 in the Inn in Baldurs Gate that had been plagued by green Jelly.. I totally cleaned that place out! Two people standing up after that.. Reload anyone?? Hehe

I noticed that in 3:ed that lightning bolts don´t bounce around anymore, and you can choose between a 5foot- or 10-foot wide bolt.. Might make it a bit more useful..

Otherwise I like to use it to clear out narrow paths with low hitdie creatures, bouncing back and forth! hehehe
