i just picked up Keldorn and was wondering what i have to do (or who I have to talk to) to get started on the quest for the Holy Avenger. Thanks.

There is no real quest for the holy avenger.
You get it after you kill the dragon Firkraag in the Windspear Hills.
Complete the map, kill the mean red dragon and one of the finest weopons in the game is yours !! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif.
BTW, this is a tough fight, unless you are at a reasonably high level be prepared for a few reloads. It is one of the better fights in the game though-and well worth the time and effort.

what level do you think i need to be to kill the dragon, i am still early in the game.

Wait till at least level 12 preferably 13 since you havent beaten him before after that you can take him on as early as level 10.

holy avenger is sweet. my keldorn has it. ocupled with the gauntlets of dexterity amd plate/helm of balduran he is a force to be reckoned with. 50% magic resistance baby
