I can't seem to be able to duel from a kensai to a mage. Could someone please help me out here?

You need to have high INT to dual to mage, and I think it has to be at least 16.

if you use a potion to boost your int. can you dual before the effect wears off?
i know you can use that to memorize spells.

Are you playing a human? If not you won't be able to dual class at all. Only humans can Dual class. Try the potion thing, as I'm curious as to wether or not it will work.

Unless its a bug, you wont' be able to dual class due to a potion raise. In the game you have your recorded stat score, and your current stat score. If there is a difference, the stat appears in RED. Thus drinking a int potion would raise your current store, but not your base score, and I can probably guarantee the game goes off your base score.
So to dual class to the mage, you'd have to have I think 16 or 17 in your INT and be a human.

You'd have to have at least a 17 (is that right?) in your primary stats for your first character and a 17 in the primary stats for the second character, AND you have to be human, and you have to be at least level 2 (but you dont have to worry about that http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif).

Also its best not to dual class untill you have reached a substantial level in your original class because you will NEVER gain any experience in that class again. So if you are going to do it wait a while. I wouldnt do it (personally) until I had maxed out my original class. But the choice is yours.

You need 15 in the primary stats of your current and new class, so a fighter dualling to mage needs at least 15 INT and STR. If you're dualling from a fighter it doesn't matter much what level you are, the main reason to dual from fighter is to be able to use any armour, shield or weapon.
