Hey there, I'm wondering if it's possible to disarm traps without being a thief, or having a thief in your party.
I also wonder if you can use shield when you multiclass to thief/mage, or if you have to be thief/mage/warrior for that.

Unfortunately, theres no way to disarm traps without being a thief or having a thief in the party.
And so long as one of your classes has the ability to use a shield, you can use a shield, though I believe thieves can only use bucklers.

Why?

Welcome John!

I think you're hosed as far as disarming traps without a thief. You can unlock without a thief, but you can't disarm without tripping.

If you are a mage/thief, you should be able to use a buckler only. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

I tried working with that problem about 3 weeks ago. All traps are run from scripts. I made a mage spell that found traps and gave a temporary remove traps skill of 90%, but it would have been useful only to dual- or multi-classed mage/thief. The biggest problem was that I couldn't enable/display the "detecting traps" button; the closest I could approach would have been to create a new script which gave the mage the modal state of "detect traps" and then the action of remove traps. In the long run, I might give that spell to mage/thief, but not now.
