Will I still look like a Balor if i changed my fighter to look like one and gave him the strength, the stats etc?

Don't need to change the stats (unless you really want to), all you need to do is select which avatar you want to be displayed in the game.

I mean in ToB? Do I still get to keep custom weapons and spells and such? and if I change my appearance in bg2, will the game crash in tob?

You can export your current character (the one with the Balor graphics), when you start a new game in BG2 your character will still have the Balor avatar, so I don't see any problems with the transferring. As for your custom stuff, just keep them in your override folder.

Besides, even IF it does cause the game to crash, I'm sure there will be a new version of ShadowKeeper (or other utilities) that will allow you to do what you want. So why worry now?

He can always give himself the ability to shapechange in to human form. I played a custom Silver Dragon in BG1 and she had the ability to shapechange.
