I don`t know if it is a error, but i have never found any Red scales or any scales from dragons,
do they lay on the dragons when they fell or.......?

They lie on the dragons, maybe you killed them with the Disentigrate spell? Then their stuff sometiems dissapear.

Only Firkraag has them. If you have petrifed or disintegrated him, all items will be GONE. Otherwise it is concealed by his huge body. Try passing your cursor over it until you spot something. Dragons don't have pockets, so they have to keep their items elsewhere on their person (I think this is why they walk funny)

What I want to know is..how a dragon can give you its scales at the moment of its death. I would think that you'd have to skin it (or scale it) first..
