I really need to get some help. I got the first part of the artifact for the beholder from the dying avatar. I then go talk to tad near the pit of the faithless but can not figure out where to go. I can go talk to the other guy they say not to but then the beholder shows up and I kick his butt but I can not find the second half. What do I do???

You need to go down into the pit of the faithless. There are some stairs just to the left of where you would have spoken to Tad which you need to go down. You'll enter another area, and from the right hand side of that area you can enter the pit where the other half of the rod is.

Errrr....did you say "the beholder" showed up? Where exactly did he show up? Did you attack somebody (or somebody attacked you) in the Cult Area?
