There's one in Nalia's keep (to the left chest of the "main hall area"), although you'll have to do some smart lock pickinghttp://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Normally, you must be a mage for a main char, to have a familiar.
Here are the goodie goodies LG: Pseudo Dragon (dont be fooled, Hes as big as a mephit) NG: Pseudo Dragon CG: Fairy Dragon Here are the paranoid neutral familiars LN: Ferret N: Rabbit CN: Cat Now here comes the badboy's pets LE: Imp (pretty good possibly the bes familiar in the game) NE: Dust Mephit CE: Quasit http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...o_ani_fire.gif ------------------ Will the real cheesy lich stop using timestop, stop using time stop, YEAH BABY! |

I think you also get one from one of the random encounters ("you have been waylaid by enemies and must defend yourself....)

Their is one in Nalia´s keep next to the forge, you can buy one from a merchant near the city gate (the one that gets threatend by a thug) and their is also one on the body of one of the shadow thieves that get killed by a vamp.

I find it's best to choose Find Familiar at the start of the game when you can pick your mage spells earlier on the familiar's HP boost and thieving skills are more useful anyway.
A question - if you import a mage from BG1, do they keep the spells in their spellbook? It's really hard finding decent mid-level spells without buying them (which is very expensive early on), although high-level ones are actually quite easy to find (as treasure). My mages usually end up with about 8 level 6,7,8 spells and only one or two near-useless level 4 and 5 ones.. |
