but what is a spoiler and what does it do?

A spoiler is something you can say that could ruin a game for someone that hasnt done that particular part yet. So when you are going to say someting like that go

A Spoiler is something that tells you WHAT to do and/or how to do it. You will find alot of helpful hints that have spoiler on them because they take the guesswork out of that part of the game.

To me a spoiler is information that gives away about what is up ahead, what the expected results may be. It may include solutions to game challenges. It, in other words, would spoil the unfolding of the story for other players. Like finding out the end of a movie before you get to see it. While knowing events ahead of time works for some folks it certainly doesn't for others.
