Does anyone know where to find the rules (and abilities) for monks with a level higher than 21?

I dont know about pen and paper but even with the xp cap removed the only thing you get after level 21 is thaco and hp and I think you might get more magic resistance.

hmmm well I think the original AD&D rules said a monk could go past 15th lvl if I remember correctly..... so go figure. There must have been a lot of people writing in complaining about that one.

What was the original max level an assassin could get to??? i know it was called grandfather of assassins. was it level 18 or 21??? i cant remember that fgar back... im starting to feel really old here lol

I don't know for AD&D 1 and 2, but the manuals for high level characters in AD&D 3 has not yet been released. But they will someday.

The original AD&D rules (published back in the early 1980s) limited monks to a maximum level of 17. As if that weren't bad enough, once you reached level 10 there were only so many monks of the next level and you had to find one and defeat that monk in personal combat in order to gain a level. The same held true for assassins--a level limit of 15 (Grandfather/mother of Assassins) and in order to gain levels above 11th you had to assassinate a higher-ranked assassin.

I looked through 2nd Ed. P.H. a couple of days ago and monks can go up to level 17 - Grand Master of Flowers

Also, if I remember correctly, 3rd Ed. lists monks only up to level 20.

3E tops out at level 20 for ALL classes. Supposedly there is another supplement in the making for higher-level play
