does minsc have a quest?

No, he doesn't. Unless you count the Umar Hills quest as one.

When you have Aerie in your party, he will tell her about his loss of Dynaheir, the previous 'witch' he protected. He then asks her if she would like to become his new witch, to which she agrees. After that, he'll try to protect her in battle and goes berserk if she dies.

you can't get umar hills with out him...so I would count it as one
