Work on his demon friends first. By the time your done with them his protection spells will have worn off.

If only your lead character is visible, have one o fyour mages Maze your character. By the time he comes back, some of those protections will have dropped

How do you kill Irenicus eh? Well, first you want to take your sword and shove it up his ***. Then twist it a little and replace with a Wand of Wonder. Use all 50 charges. After that seal him in one of his jars and "forget" about him as well.

AFTER the demons, etc., have someone cast truesight/ oracle if you can't target him with spells, and keep casting breach, pierce magic type stuff while your fighters wax him. All those haste/protection potions you've been saving come in handy too.

Here is how I usually beat Irenicus:

First, I have any thieves in my group lay down as snares in clusters of 3 or 4. Generally speaking, each cluster will outright kill a demon at the start of the fight.

Second, I buff up all my guys as much as possible with long duration spells being cast first. Also, I summon the 5 best creatures I can, and anyone who can creates a simulcrum.

When the battle starts, I control all my guys (and their simulcrums) manually, and concentrate all my firepower on one demon at a time. I make heavy use of sequenced spells and time stop to drop the demons as quickly as possible. The whole key to winning the battle is killing the demons quickly. Once they're gone, Irenicus himself is cake.
