I'm just starting a solo game (i.e. using only 1 character in my team), did everyone just use a fighter immediately dualled to a thief (for those all important lock-picking abilities) or what?

*YAWN* there have been a million and 1 threads on this. Flick back a page or 2. I will say that it is defintely possible to complete the game with ANY class or kit solo. First time I used a straight barbarian. Use call upon holy might to increase strength to force all locks open and u can eat trap damage if u're a fighter due to high HP.
Mages can use knock and don't need to worry about traps- use mirror image- the trap nearly always takes out a fake image, or use stoneskin. Druids can use Ironskins and summoning spells and so can clerics use summoning. The easiest to solo with is probably barbarian or cleric |
Of course, there is the class of thought that says do a Multiclass Fighter/wizard/thief and take off the XP cap. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

I soloed witha Mage dualled to a Thief. Backstab and laying traps saved me a lot of hassle.
