i've tried playing a multiplayer game with my own custom made characters. and it seems i can't continue some side quests. for example the Unseeing Eye quest in the temple district, i've found a hidden door in the northern part of the map, but it says it can't be picked or opened using some spells. do you need certain NPC's in your party to complete some side quests?

Nope, but you do have to get the quest from the priest in the temple of helm.

The only quest you need an npc for is the mage sphere quest.
