Mazzy challenged Gorf to a duel. Then some nefarious character sold us a potion to poison Gorf. How do you use the potion? Gorf's girl doesn't want to help us.

I have already fought the duel. I found the party can give Mazzy items during the duel, so they gave her boots of speed, a bow and arrows. Gorf was dead before he could get near enought the take a swing!

I never believe in giving evil a fair chance.

I believe this is Mazzy specific. I played once through without her and never saw it. In the main room of the Copper Coronet there is a round shape along the lower left wall... that is the dueling ring. There is someone named Surly (I think) who runs it.
Like the Druid challenge, your character appears there with only rudimentry equipment. You can't get any help from the rest of the party by missile weapons or spells. ***BUG ALERT*** But they CAN give you items! Properly re-equipped, Mazzy made short work of him.
It started when I had Mazzy in my party and we went to the slums. Gorf started insulting Mazzy in front of the Copper Coronet, and demonstrating his superior "Squishing" skills on a nearby peasant! Mazzy got understandably pissed and challenged him to a duel. The PC had the opportunity to talk her out of it, but I chose not to.

Never used any aid. For me, Mazzy cast Improved Haste, ran to other side of arena, cast Holy Might, then kicked Gorf's butt from here to the BG2 Bar and back!

it is mazzy specific. you have to buy the bitch(i mean gorf's gf) a gold necklace... i think you have to do it the 'seductive' way... i think you have to have high INT or Charisma... after that, gorf is much simpler. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Dunno about the Mazzy thing, but i have encountered another one, where they began to insult me inside the Copper Coronet. I beat them fairly simple, so i didn't worry about that one. They took me inside that ring as well, and the others couldn't help me, but here my main character (being Link) solved the thing....

If it's part of a quest, I've stuffed it!!
He came up to mazzy outside the CC and started mouthing off that he was goint to sort her out.
I chopped him up.

Hmmm...when I had Mazzy she beat him down no problem without any spells or items...
