My party - kensai, Minsc, Korgan, Jaheira, Nalia, Aerie. Doing Korgan's book quest, just finished in the lower tombs at the Graveyard.
Aerie's turn undead seems to suck. Firstly, I can't find a script that will get her to continuously turn undead (unlike say Nalia who I can get to constantly detect traps). I have to set it manually, and check all the time that it is on. Secondly, it does not seem to have any effect on the Skeleton Warriors, Mummies, Zombies, Ghasts and Shadow Fiends that infested the lower tomb. I've cleared it out after an afternoon of hard fighting (and occasional reloading) but I was disappointed as I thought that the cleric's turn undead would be of help. Any pointers here on how to get Aerie to turn undead all the time? What level must the cleric be in order for turn undead to have a significant impact on the monsters? ------------------ "Butt-kicking for goodness!" - Minsc http://www.angelfire.com/rpg/wildlep...n/images/w.gif |
I'm not sure of the level that Aerie needs to affect the undead here, but if you are doing this quest near the beginning of the game then more than likely she won't affect more than the zombies. Keep in mind that if you do anything with her but move her turn undead ability will shut off.
Since you said you've already completed this quest you probably don't need this, but if you'd like an easy way to handle this quest the next time you play then try this: SPOILER > > > > > > > > Get a few Protection from Undead scrolls for your warriors and then they can go in advance and slaughter almost every undead creature in the place with no resistance. Then the only two problems you'll encounter are the traps and the vampire's mind control (if you put someone in the lead with Lilarcor, then the vamp will key on him and can then be taken out). |
Protection from Undead... (slaps forehead)
Is this a cleric or mage spell? Which level? ------------------ "Butt-kicking for goodness!" - Minsc http://www.angelfire.com/rpg/wildlep...n/images/w.gif [This message has been edited by Hayashi (edited 05-13-2001).] |
I never use it anyway, because after the effects wear off, and they come back from wherever they were hiding, you still have to fight them. There is no use for it, unless it is to make a few monsters go hide awhile, with the promise that you'll get to them later, but I don't care for that.

Turn undead is very useful, Play an Evil cleric and get him/her to a high enough level and watch those skeletons and zombies explode before your very eyes !

High enough level Good Clerics will destroy lesser Undead while Evil Clerics turn them to their side. Unfortunately it really only affects the lesser Undead unless you're way up in the levels. There's a hidden Mace in Bhodi's lair that's more useful when fighting undead.

You don´t even have to play a cleric PC, cause Anomen and Viconia are true clerics (not so Aerie...DUAL-CLASS)and will increase their turn undead abilities faster. Letting them join your party is an other aspect, of course.
