Hi, new to the board.
I have a question re dual classing fighters -- imagine you start off as a fighter, dual to another class, and level up to the point where you can start using your fighter abilities again. From that point on, will your THAC0 and proficiency increases happen as they would for a non-dual-classed fighter? I just want to know if you're gonna play a dual-classed fighter-something, is it better to start as a fighter and then change, or change to fighter later in the game? Thanks |
Welcome ElHarami,
As I understand it, once your new class reaches one level above your fighter class you will get you fighter abilities back at the fighters last level (including THACO, etc..). Otherwise your new class will progress in its abilities/stats normally. Unless the new classes abilites exceed the Fighter's (on a case by case basis), you will keep the Fighter's stats. |
So... starting with a thief then dual classing to fighter and vice versa would have very different effects after you reched the point where the initial class was re-activated?

It just means you get whichever thaco was better.

Once you dual class a fighter to say a mage, your fighter stats NEVER improve unless they improve as a mage. If you were a 10th level fighter when you dual classed, you will never be higher than a 10 level fighter.
This is very different from MULTI classing. Sherpa Doug |
