I was playing a swashbuckler that dueled twin wakizashi's but i get that 'weapon ineffective' message so many times it's not funny, fighting golems, shadows & wraiths, what the hell? Are they all immune to piercing weapons? What else is immune to piercing weapons?

Yes indeed...

no they are not immune to piercing weapons. alot of those u described are just immune to non magical weapons such as shadows and wraiths. and golems especially iron and adanamite are immune to almost all weapons.

i never came across any magical Washiizsahs (sp) besdie a +1 one,and i think found a +2 somwhere

Those swords are very weak cause there aren't a decent one in the game. But I think that if you are proficient with wakisashi, you can use a scimitar. And there are more good scimitar than wakizashi.

I think there is a ninja to +2 and if you have the special merchants there is kachiko's wakizashi and ninja to of the scarlet brotherhood. They would be the suckiest weapon classes if it were not for darts and bastard swords.
