Like you've said, one is a fighter, the other is a mage...can't compare oranges with apples alone...it ALL DEPENDS ON WHO ELSE IS IN YOUR PARTY, so they can maximize the use of their skills.

AH....probably Edwin if he's got Spell Trigger and other sequencers casted.

At level 100 minsc couldnt hack through the sheer number of protection spells edwin could cast but if they fought each other within the experience cap of bg2 minsc could rage and kick his butt.

But, for a team , I suggest Edwin. Sure Minsc is cool and strong, but you can replace him with several other NPC. But, who can replace Edwin and be as good as him...no one.
