There's this door next to Jahoboam (sp - ?) the merchant somewhere at the centre of the docks area. IIRC he's teh one that can make the locket.
There's a door that leads to into a house just next to him, on his left. I can't enter the location without an immediate CTD.
Symptoms: area loading screen comes up. Immediately after that, the games crashes.
Any help? I am using the patched version.

According to your description, if it is to the left of the locket merchant, it is either Valygar's house (name speaks for itself) or Prebek's Home (part of Harper's quest in the beginning). There should not be a problem in entering either one of these houses... Which house (exactly) do you have problems getting into? Have you try exiting the game and reloading?

I don't think it's either - I checked the map and it appears that the 2 houses you mentioned are further to the left, near the stairs. This door in question is immediately to the left of the locket merchant, and I hope it could be one of the places of no real importance. (Haven't come across Valygar & Prebek yet, so please don't spoil).

Hmmmm.....is it a temple (Temple of Oghma)? THere should be no problem entering there either... try quiting the game and entering again.

No, I don't think so either. The temple is further up the map, iirc. The door in question is right next to the merchant.
I have tried from a fresh start, still no joy.

How do you take a screen shot? Perhaps I can take a shot of the map and post it.

I belive It's the door to the most powerfull Lish in the game you're talking about. Areally hard nut to crack, not many bother with it, i don't remember what you get from him though...anyone?

Nope, it's not the door to Kangaxx (that's the one with the 3 minotaurs inside, and the stairs leading to Kangazz's tomb, right?)

Just an update - the door in question is Valygar's place. I tried going in again last night, and was able to without any problems. Funny thing isn't it?
