I tried to use Vhailor’s Helm for the first time in the Asylum to no avail. When I accessed the item abilities, through the bag icon, my character successfully rolled a saving throw vs. death and nothing happened. I reloaded and tried again….same outcome. I reloaded and tries several more times….same outcome. What gives?

A little background:
My protagonist, who is a fighter dualed to a mage, is using the helm.

Vhailor's Helm is a is a little trinket helmet from a seller in the Adventurer's mart: though you need the bonus CD to get the merchant herself.

Its supposed to give you 1 simulcrum a day. (7th level mage spell)

I was never able to get this to work either, but it's because your character is too high a level. You keep making the saving throws against the item. If you use lower magic resistance, it's possible it will work. Seems like a waste of a spell though (unless you need 1 more character). Vhailor's Helm is supposed to cast simulacrum on the person who is wearing it. You do need either the bonus CD or you can use Shadow Keeper. The other option is to "copy" it from another character that has it. The Bonus CD allows you to access the item ALREADY in the game. Anyways, if you get it to work, give us a holler. I had a mage that already had the spell, so left the helm alone.

I used it very effectively on Keldorn. I have read of people having problems using it on Anomen. You might try equipping it on a few different characters and see if they can use it.

WHAT!?! This can't be!! What a let down!! And I was so looking forward to my protagonist using this item! That's it! I'm fed-up and will not take the dissapointment any longer! I'm ending it all right now! Good bye world.

(Man gets up from computer and in one gracefull fluid motion goes over to the window, opens it and leaps out, catching his foot on the sill as he passes through.)

(Moments later the man picks himself up out of the flower bed, shaking the dirt out of his hair and picking Petunia petals out of his front teeth, while thinking to himself:
Mental note #1 - next time try second story window as opposed to first
Mental note #2 - next time close mouth....Petunias taste terrible.)

(Meanwhile, neighbors across the street once again stare, with mounths open, in complete and utter disbelief at "the neighbor who is a little touched.")

(Man, who just finished removing the last petal, notices neighbors staring, puts on a big smile, waves vigorously, and then proceeds to enter the house through the front door.)

(Life goes on as norma.....well, life goes on.)
