What is the highest level a sorcerer can get to with the standard experience cap?

Oh, that's horrible... and all this time I was thinking I'd make 20 and get all these awesome spells. Ack, I'm so disappointed. Here I was thinking I might actually be a bad ass. What the HELL are you supposed to do with 17 levels? You don't get anything!!!

You could get every spell but 9 you know?

So take the level cap off. That's what will happen when you add on Throne of Bhaal anyway. I did that and chose Imprisonment for my first lvl9 spell - most funny for overpowering peasants

Yes, I would... but I really want to play this game legitimately. I don't want any "cheating" or demi-cheating.

Its not cheating if you earn the experience by doing quests and killing monsters. I put the experience cap removal halfway through my first game and you only gain at the most 2 levels above the experience cap if you have a six person party and even then they only reached those extra levels during the hell tests.
