I was told the Gauntlets of weapon expertise were in the big pool of blood
in the circular room with all the spikes and traps in the underground Tomb in the graveyard district. All I ever get is the message describing the pool of blood when I try to click on it ??? Where are the Gauntlets ?

(EDIT)...I think it's after Aran Linvail sends you there to sort out the vampires before boarding the ship for the Asylum.

Aren't the gauntlets something to do with the Haer'dalis quest?

Nah....your thinking of the gauntlets of weapon skill, not expertise. You can only get the expertise after the underdark.
