I am playing as Drizzt and used to createitem command to get all his gear but after having Drizts party help me clear out the vampire nest, every time I equip myself with Frostfang, Twinkle etc. a Harpell shows up and demands Drizzts gear so he can resurrect him !!! is there any way short of killing this annoying git to keep me wargear ???

im afraid not... i think you can really never have drizzt's items...

i thought in bg 1 if you killed him you got his sutff?

Tried it meself once (use the drizztattacks create creature commandline f you are past the start then use the (but Ur team had better be good))

Yes, but in theory in BG2 you (or Jon) has sold all of your belongings prior to (or during) your initial capture by Jon. And Drizzt is pretty pissed when you encounter him later in the game.
