Use protection vs undead scroll(the demi lich won't even attack you!)and kill him with +4 weapons.

For immunity to Imprisonment:
Go BERSERK (only available to Minsc, Korgan, and Berserkers)
Spell Shield vs Abjuration school (combine with Haste and Tenser's Transformation if a single-class mage)
Weapons of +4 or higher (or a Ranger using Vorpal Sword). Carsomyr and the upgraded Mace of Disruption good.
Cleric of level 17+ Turn Undead
Sneaky: Send in Wizard Eye first. Kangaxx will waste time trying to imprison it while you smack his butt.
.
Hope this helps, old chap!

1. Buy 1 Protection from Magic scroll and use it on KANGAXX when it becomes a demi-lich, not on you! Well, this makes Kangaxx immune to any magic attack but it also prevents him from casting any spell, for example, Imprisonment...
2. Use +4 weapons (Staff of Rynn, Carsomyr, Sling of Everard, etc.). Kangaxx is immune to +3 weapons.
3. @Lord Shield: Level 17 suffices? Kangaxx is level 27.

In addition to what they said try sending in little crap weasel summons to get his attention while your guys with +4 weapons and above get him from the back.

RULE #2:See rule #1

A CLeric's ability to turn undead in AD&D is different. Despite Kangaxx's level, he counts as a "special". So does a lich. So does a nightshade. Their level is irrelevant. If a Turn is successful, you will affect 2D6 Hit Dice of critters (or thereabouts), affecting at LEAST 1 creature. I suspect that's why it worked here
