So how do all of you do that "quote: Originally posted by ... " function? I took a blind stab at it and the end product was not nearly as nice.

Above a persons post there's his information ,edit/delete and quote. So you click on quote to quote him.

The quote option is good but imho is too often overused. You'll often see a question with the exact same question quoted directly below it and then that post again quoted in full directly below that. Personally I prefer to quote the pertinent points of a post only if a quote is required. It often is not. The above is a perfect example of where a quote is not required but is still quoted in full. Sorry BG2SOA but that's my personal opinion and is not a form of personal attack in any way http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif . Some threads are quite large and it may be that a response is given some way down the page in reply to a post much higher up in the same thread, in these instances I think a complete quote is quite acceptable.

My personal opinion only so don't be shooting me down in flames ok http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif

You're not the only one Charlie, I personally think too and the "quote" thing has become a riot where everyone start echoing other people LIKE GODDAMNED PARROTS!

Yes, quoting is god for those long threads, but those who quote like mad are saying that they have difficulty understanding:

A totally mislead response!!http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif
