well, how do you take ingame screen shots. when i take a screen shot it comes out looking like this

well i did this i ran bgconfig. then lowered my graphix to 2d and ran in windowed mode then did alt+printscreen

I never got screen shots to work, they always turned out like your first one did, with lines all through it.
I was just running the game normally, and pressing "Print Screen"

Just pause te game or not .. press print screen. If you have a pictures editor program like photoshop, do this : clik on file, new ; then a white picture (space) will appear, then clik on edit; paste. Now you should see the picture appear in the white space available for a new pict. I do it often to take dragon battel pictures ..
