This battle just seems to go on and on! After killing that dragon, my poor exhausted group headed upstairs for some air and NOW there is the shadelord...so we managed to kill off that group...and really worn out were greated next by Jahiera's enraged Harper pals who had decided she must die! The battle was just too much at that point. I guess I need to sleep or something in between these events, but who knew. Does it go this way for everyone?

No... this quest for jaheira is a timed event, and u had bad lucky on getting it on this point.... try to rest after killing the dragon

Unfortunately I seem to recall you cannot rest in the Dragon's lairs. Return to the Corridor leading to the dragon and rest there, though

If you think that's bad, try resting in Icewind Dale while playing on Heart of Fury mode. 9/10 times you'll spawn a group of hostiles. I used it to get my characters up to level 16+ then played the rest of the game normally.

Hmm, I never during five times through have had this harpers quest, no matter what I do, being flirtig with Jaheira, been ambushed only once.. Damn..
