At the beginning of the Asylum Dungeon there is a room with 11 statues holding "bowls" in their hands. I can get the riddle items from the chest into my inventory grid, but I can't figure out how to place them in the bowls. Putting them on the ground doesn't work. Help appreciated.

When you figure out which statue an item belongs to, click on its bowl. The bowl and your backpack open up on the bottom. Click on the item from your side and it will move into the bowl

I won't spoil you now but if you need help with which order to put em feel free to ask..
