just try to have a bard in your party and see what he can identify.....!
When I started a new game with a jester, he could identify every item in Jon's dungeon!!!
So: no more identify spells, scrolls, glasses of identification etc. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif

Lore is basically a indentify scroll except that the item has a lore value. so if your lore is high enough and you find a magic item, right click it and if you see the indentify button on the bottom, then your lore isnt high enough

the higher the intelligence and wisdom increases your lore

also the class you are
Mage- 3 per level
Thief- 3 per level

all ohters get one per level

a Bard is a very!!!! useful character to have http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif high lore is great, leves more room for those nice magic missiles and cromatic orbs in your spell book http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif

It saves a lot of spell slots because you don't have to have lots of identify spells.
More room for magic missiles (evil grin)
