Can I import Spells from Icewind Dale to Bg2 ?? Will it work ?? I though of that but don't want to try and scrap all my games. And also will it work for items too ?

I want to do the same for Planescape Torment but I don't think it can be done.

You could *recreate* the spell using Infinity Editor Engine, but otherwise the chances are that you can't.

I believe you have to recreate the spells, as in go to spell maker and create a BG2 spell that's exactly like the IWD one, select Icons etc.
You could try importing some IWD spells into BG2 though. Dump 'em into the override folder, make sure there issint a spell like that in the game already (obviously magic missle is out of the question http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif, but you get the drift) and import the spells with Shadowkeeper. If it does'nt work, first remove the spells from your characters with Shadowkeeper, THEN delete the files from the folder, in that order.
I'm not too sure but it might be a little buggy, considering that IWD uses different spell effects and the like, so your graphics might not show up right etc.

Actually, it's quite simple to import spells from Icewind Dale into BG2. Simply copy the spell from IWD and paste it into the "override" folder. I have done this with "spwi402" so that I may use Dimension Door. The only thing you may have to do is delete any 3D or "visual spell hit" effects; most are compatible, though.

Unfortunately, I haven't yet examined the limitations on some spells, such as priest spells that may be cast only by those of evil alignment. I suppose I'll get to that this weekend....
