Does the Imprisonment spell last forever? Everytime I fight Lavok in Valygar's quest one of my characters gets imprisonment cast on them and they dont come back. Is there any way to prevent this?

You can retrieve imprisoned characters by casting freedom (ninth level spell) in the area they were imprisoned. I think you can avoid it with protection from magic scrolls. If you don't cast freedom they will indeed be imprisoned forever.

as protection from magic scrolls are not exactly numerous (i believe i never had more than 4 at a time) i´d suggest either the berserk ability or spell immunity: abjuration...

aelia is dead on you need a freedom spell which is a 9th level spell to free them, i guess thats just good incentive not to get imprisoned

Now heres something Id like 2 know.... Ive beaten Kangaxx a tone of times but I have neva used wat everybody sayz makes it easy (Spell Immunity: Abjuration) Now I went and tried it, I got aerie to cast Spell Immunity, then I selected Abjuration.. Kangaxx casts his imprisonment... BOOM shez imprisoned.... Bug???? Just incase u were wondering I beat him newayz with the staff of the magi and Crasyomer :D :D :D :D ...... does it matter that she was reasonably low lvled????? (I was in chap 2)

Did you wait for her to cast the spell after selecting the school of Abjuration? If there was no white whiffle ball around her( like Spell Trap), then there was no Spell Immunity.

Some Mages accidentally make a move or do other actions immediately after selecting a school, thus nullifying the spell effect.

o.... wel i dont know... it was the 1st time i had eva cast the spell :eek: :( and i already had spell trap cast (staff of Magi)

One easy way to avoid this is to observe the battletext. Make sure it says "spell casted - Spell Immunity: Abjuration" before tasking your Mage with something else.
