So which stronghold applies to dual class characters? Specifically, a fighter who duals to a mage? I hope it's the current class, because I've already played through as a fighter and seen that stronghold.

i played a fighter mage thief. and got both the fighter and the mage strongholds. but i didnt play long enough to get the theif one too.
but i'm not sure about dual class though.

There is a potential glitch that allow a dual/multi-class character to have 2 strongholds. In the case of a fighter/mage, what matters is which quest and which dialogue option you choose first. You can have either the fighter or the mage stronghold, I recall after I took Nalia's offer, Lavok never offered me the stronghold. So I would recommend you to do the Planar Sphere first if you want the mage, just to be sure.

I dualed fighter to mage, got the mage stronghold first, and then Nalia's quest, and got both strongholds. Couldn't do the same thing with my thief duals, though. ~.^

Well, in theory, you are only suppose to have 1 stonghold per character.
