I just levelled up my character and Jaheira too (this is the first one for each of them). How come there aren't any skill points to distribute? I got the Sword of Chaos but I don't have any points in 2-handed swords! http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...smiles/mad.gif
Could someone please explain how levelling up & skill points work together?

I think for fighters, you will only get one skill point for weapons for every 3 levels you advance. Meaning you will get an additional proficiency point to distribute when you are at lvl 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, ... etc.

Yeah. The rate you gain proficiency points depends on your class. Clerics/Thieves gain slower than fightersw, and mages slower still. Never mind, you will find better weapons for whichever weapons you DID spend points in

Thanks guys, I can sleep better now. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...miles/wink.gif

Hmmm... I did recall ever seeing this mentioned in the manual. For AD&D newbies it's details lke these that are important, and missing. Any idea where I could get some more information on the rules? I don't think the manual does a good job of explaning the ins and outs of AD&D.

2nd edition AD&D books (Player's or Dungeon Master's), but I don't know if they're still being printed
