Before I even get started, I have absolutely no problems with icewind dale or heart of winter. They have the same minumum requirements as BG2. So I don't think it is my video card. I am not very patient and wish I could have been playing the game already. I have tried different avenues of approach in the config yet nothing seems to make it smooth. I would consider my video card if Icewind Dale and the Orignal Baldur's gate didn't run perfectly. Hopefully someone out there can let me catch up with everyone else in time to get the expansion and hope that that one works...

Other than toning down the video option (graphics, sounds, etc), you can also set the background noises and animations off in the setup.

I can suggest a few things, but you may very well have triend all of them already:
1. Turn off all the programs running in the background. If you don't have a lot of RAM, the background programs will eat up what you do have. 2. Do a full install to your hard drive. 3. Turn the 3D off. I've found that BG2 has some pecularities that some of the other games don't, as far as video is concerned. |
