Well i will try to tell this short.
I was going to Windspear Hills to kill the dragon and have the key to the sewers in the Temple D. But i jumped into a quest in helping the guy who helps you with the killed paladins. When you are at their house they kidnapp his daughter.
So i promise to get her back.
Well i have cleant out all that is in the Firkraag place including the Mage and Firkraag. I have taken the key to the cell that the daughter is in.
I went to the cell and locked up the door and talked to her and she says that i must go and get the key from the mage etc. etc.

ive tried to sleep and then talk to her but that doesnt help.

i installed ToB over my SoA for 3 days ago, patched with the newest official patch from BioWare.

Also looked at BaldurDash homepage for a bugfix but i cant find it. :(

Any suggestion how i can finish the quest? I have done all right because i know how to do. (played threw it one other time)

It sounds like you did everything right, but the sequence can be critical.

I think this is the way this went for me:

Went into the prison room, killed all the neo orogs there - the mage bugs out and goes downstairs - talked to the girl .. she says get the key

Went downstairs, talked to Firkraag ... but did not attack him .... mage bugs out again and goes upstairs .. Firkraag tells me to deal with the mage if I want the girl

Go back upstairs (to the prison cell room) ... killed the mage. got the key, talked to the girl ... girl is free

went back downstair, killed Firkraag .. much rejoicing from my paladin!

Is that how you remember the sequence or did you do things in a different order? If you did them in a different order, you might try replaying from a saved game and see if you get the same outcome .. if you do end up stuck in that same dialogue string see the next suggestion

Its also possible that the dialogue string got corrupted .. it DOES happen in installation and occassionally due a bad cd ... ways to solve this are (1) to either copy the exact dialogue file for this from someone else (I'll check my files when I get home tonight and see if I can figure out which one it is), (2) use the cheat code to set the global variable that frees the girl (I have NO clue what the proper global is however); or (3) back up a previous save game from prior to this location; uninstall, defrag, reinstall, and replay.

I discovered another mayor bug, with TOB installed!
Since big ol' F. kicked my butt all over the place, i ran up the stairs and left the hall. He followed, and because the room was too small, he got stuck between a table and the wall!!
Needless to say, I killed him withoud much trouble.

Firkraag obviously needs to put his big ol' scaly red butt on a serious diet - munching on orcs between meals just adds on the tons!

Can´t you have the code for the key and import it and talk to the girl. I thought of that after I posted my post. :(

Well i never saw the mage go down to Firkraag I only killed all the one and Tazok and the fellows but i saw no mage. He was with F. when I came to him. Then i talked myself out of F. went up killed the mage and then took the key. I OPENED the door before i talked to the girl. Maybe you should talk to the girl when the door still is locked?

That's it! It has to be. Nothing else makes sense, except that you may need to talk to her BEFORE you go downstairs! Dialogue strings can be tricky sometimes.

Using the item code for the key might help, let me see if I can find the code for it. I'll either post it here or PM it to you. IF it doesn't you will probably need to restore an old save and redo it. There might be an autosave from where you went upstairs after killing Firkraag ... provided you didn;t do anything else after you encountered this problem. If that's the case, reload the autosave .. go back upstairs and talk to the girl first then talk to her again.

I think you may be right about the mage ... I thought he was upstairs in the corner near the stairs but that might be bad memory.

Hmm.. im stupid so i have already saved over because i went down and back and then down again. :(
I can recover old saves but then i must do all the windspear hills problem + mind flayer cave in temple d. + half way in the Watchers Keep... :( So if you find the code for the key I will be very glad. ;)
