I never see posts about playing a paladin. Do they become powerful? Or is it a waist of time.

(Dragon Poop has resigned himself to the smorgasborg (sp?)of BGII.) I have to admit the community here is way cooler than any other boards Ive been on.

I have played an undead hunter named Khellendros. Paladins are great warriors with useful abilities and are interesting characters. One thing you have to realize is all classes can become powerful, it only depends on how you play it. As for the class you use I recommend choosing a class that best represents your personality. A character is only as powerful as you make it.

I like the inquisitor ! He has the dispel magic ability and he cast it twice stronger than his level! at level 10, the spell is strong as level 20 ! No ennemi's magic can resist that ability .. maybe but very not often !!

In my opinion, paladins have two of great kits in their class:
1) Undead Hunter, vampire hunter anyone??
2) Cavalier, bonus against demons and dragons, they are immune to fear, useful in many game critical fights.
Paladins can become above average fighters, but they become deadly when equiped with a nifty +5 sword, Holy Avenger(this as many will say "it's an over-rated weapon", which in part is true. It doesn't make your paladin invincible, but it definitely comes in handy in MANY situations). They are easy to control and plays fairly well for newbies (this is the class I played back in BG and when BG2 first came out).

If Aerie has the Crom Faeyr, I can see her dealing lots of damage in one of her "Oh my~" hits. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...s/biglaugh.gif

Paladins rock! - if only to set a contrast within the story about pure good vs. pure evil. I could never get into a game of "Evil vs. Eviler";it just didn't sit well. Played well, a Paladin of any type has great advantage over a regular fighter, depending on where one is in the game. Undead, Demons, Dragons, and Mages are all the most potent adversaries, so choose wisely.
