On the beginning of the Underdark area, one of thoses little men ask u to go kill that demon (Balor), well spells are useless against him, and my fighters just keep getting confused when they attack him, when I summon animals they all day in seconds. What strategy should I use to kill him, (spells, ways of attacking, ect.) Any help would be appriciated. Thanks in advance.

Cast protection from evil on your whole party, summon pit fiend.....then click on the cliff to get the Balor out. Let the pit fiend go at it.
Btw, spells like Bolt of Glory (cleric) works pretty well on it.

Two words IceTitan...Skeleton Warriors. Mages/Clerics who are Level 14 (I think) or higher summon SWs when they cast Raise Undead spell (of whatever it is called...).

I also suggest mages casting Lower Resistance on the Balor immediately, followed by a slew of Magic Missiles and offensive spells with short casting times. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif

Since you are in the underdark, your mage(s) should have Lower Resistance memorized at least once (hey, there are Drow around after all). Use it and anything that protects against fear. Summon some fire elementals etc. Treat him like a mini Firkag w/o the wing buffet and breath weapon.

Actually I won this one on a bug. J and Minsc were running around yellow. Nalia, Imoen ans Aerie were standing around looking stupid because thay had already burned off most of their spells earlier and my PC (stalker) was not looking pretty after soloing the demon for a few rounds. Aerie had the Ring of the Ram, so she hit him with it. For some reason, its charge status wrapped to 65k. So Whohooo! Aerie (of all people) punched it to death http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...miles/wink.gif I know, it is cheezy and I probably SHOULD have reloaded, rested up and fought a real battle, but I was lazy and wanted to get into the Drow city ASAP.

Summon 5 big beasites, Resist Fear, Haste. Keep 3 of the beasties and your tanks outside the room. When Balor uses Power Word Stun on the two facing him, let the others in to smack his ass

Try using +3 weapons...that should work...but have some canon fooders that take his spells first
