I am really impressed how you guys can play this game solo.

I´m finding BG II very difficult even with my party of 6.

HOW?!?!?!

If you wanted to make life a bit easier on yourself you could import your character from the end of your party game and you'll then start the game substantially better off. However, this may be construed as cheating.

I´m not even planning on starting a solo game (I´m just in the beginning of BGII in my first game...)

I am just generally curious of solo gaming since it´s so hard even with a big party. Must require a ton of savings i guess...

I totally agree how on earth do you get through baldurs gate with just one character, has anyone actually done it? if so what kind of character do you go for I presume a cool fighter?

A fighter would struggle against Imprisonment spells. Maybe a Figher/Mage?

I've heard that the pen is stronger than the sword ;)

Remember that by playing solo your one character is much more powerful than any of your party of 6
combind The party of 6 might be better
But the greatest problem of solo is the start

yes, I can post a walk through, http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif
I soloed it with assasin/fighter, the start is a pain in the arse!!!! there are two critical points about solo assasin/fighter

first is the beginning, second is once you dual to fighter

in the beginning i specialized in:
long sword +
cross bow +
single weapon style +

when I dualed (lvl 10, it took a while to reach that high), I specialize in the weapon i desire to use: scimitar.

the trick is, DO NOT get the exp of any quest until you dual to fighter. say, if you freed Copper Corrant, DON'T talk to the owner until you dualed to fighter. this way, you gain exp for your fighter to pass the initial low levels
my fighter started from level seven by doing this (and this is not even an exploiting bug)
