My friend and I are doing some side quests and one tells us that we have to intercept a transaction between the Temple of Lathander and a thief (Travin) at night. We've ran all around the slums but we can't find this thief. Where is he?

Nevermind... we found him. We feel stupid. :-\

Perhaps I made a bit of a hasty conclusion... We didn't find him. We read a walkthrough and it said he needed to be in the northwest section of town, and then to talk to someone in the house next to the Temple. We searched the house, no one in there, we searched the northwest, not there (and those stupid vampires are getting UNGODLY annoying). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

He should be right near the north exit of the slums.

He is only going to be around at night, check the northern part of the slum, south of the exit to the north.

We've been there, at night, everywhere. We looked up the coords for where he should be exactly, but he isn't there. Any other advice?

The thieves in Borinall's House will only spawn after you talk to Travin. Are you sure you really went to the area north of the COpper Coronet building at night? Sometimes it might look like night time in game but it is actually dusk or dawn. ANyways, if all else fails, create the ring by either:
1) Shadowkeeper
2) RING38, that's the code for CreateItem for Dawn Ring
