I used 4 Blur, 4 stoneskins (after de one beforre waring out) on me.
And on him: 3 Lower resistens, skull trap, death fog, cloudkill, a few magic missiles and finaly when near death, to avoid making him to Heal, I lured him away to 4 pre-set traps and *poof* Firkraag was dead =)

BTW, I heard that the reddragon scalemail should not dissable Mage Spells rensently on this board but It didn't.
Never uses a dual/multi classed mage before so I haven't tried until now.
Probebly just a missunderstanding.

Red Dragon Scale makes Red Dragon Plate, it is consider as a plate mail, hence you cannot cast spell while wearing it. But the good thing is that it does not considered to be an AC enhancing armor, meaning you can wear you Ring of Protection +2 with it.

how about lvl 12 wizard? I had no lower resistence. didn't do it with clouds, just cast protections, run to the dragon and attack him with spells. that was my newbie time, took me about 12 times reload to kill him. (his magic resis was way too high and he could cast heal spell)

Everytime I did it I used the traditional "everyone must work spell cast and hack & slash" tactic, it is a full party effort with minimal losses....only summoned critters are loss, but I can always rememorize the spells.

traditional way didnt work on me, my men were all level 11s, and their thac0s were so poor like 7 or 8, while Firakaag had -12AC. heh, so i had to polynoph him, or feeblemind him

Ah....I should have mentioned my party is a bit higher level....about 14~15 I think and the PC is imported.

U really did this with a Singelclass L12 wizard, in that case I Admire you truly. Allthoug that could be done, just getting there would be the biggest problem I guess.
