i've tried to go through the gates between those two giant wooden doors in the city gates district but the circle cursor thing doesnt appear anywhere so i can get to my world map and leave.. so umm?..

Keep trying. It's there. Move the cursor over grey areas and shadows too.

Been theere, done that.! =)
Just must draw the mouse over the hole screen.. its there but its hard to find.. like other things.
One thing i miss in BG2 is the Zoom function from Diablo1 or the Alt function in Diablo2 so you highlight all stuff.

i dunno.. it still doesnt work but i could get to the umar hills from the bridge district?... from there i can get to the keep.. oh well..
