..And this Newbie is at a bit of a loss. I know you can create your whole team if you start with the multiplayer option, but why? I sorta like having Jaheira and Imoen - and surely, you HAVE to have Imoen? And Yoshimo? (Otherwise, who gets to be Judas?) ....?? :-|

Creating your own team allows you to have the character classes that you like to be in your party (for example, there aren't any fighter/mages in the NPC list), whenever I create a team through multi-player, I always leave at least 2 spots open (meaning I'll create at most 4 PCs) so there can be more interaction among party members. And you can export these characters whenever you feel like it. It is just something different from the traditional "pick up your NPC" approach to the game for those of us who are bored with the game.

Yeah, I usually start out with at least 2 player made NPC's. Usually a Fighter/Mage and an Assassin.

No, the NPCs in the game should stay where they are. Although I am not sure where Imoen will go if you have created a party of six in the beginning.
I did not have any trouble creating a game with 3 multi-player characters and I always take in all 3 NPCs that are available in the game's first dungeon. ------------------ Long live H22A1!!!!! |
Imoen asks if you will abandon her there then when you leave the dungeon Imoen is there and the battle scene takes place as usual.

And if you remove the created chars from the party? where they go?
|
If you remove a created character, they're gone. Oh, and they'll say something like, "Probably stripped me naked too". If you want to remove one of your characters temporarily (maybe to put in Valygar, for the mage stronghold quest) then export the character from the Character Record screen. Then reimport as needed when you restart a game.
